WELCOME NEW STUDENT AND PARENTS
We are so grateful to have you be part of the Beth Haven Christian School family. We are trusting the
Lord that this will be a great experience for you as we work together to obey the command of the Lord in
educating our children(Deut. 6:6,7).
It is important for you to read our entire BHCS handbook, sign the last page, and turn it into the
office. However, the following additional information will help you prepare for a great school year.
- NEWSLETTER: You will be receiving a monthly school newsletter and calendar near the 1st of each
month. Please feel free to call the office as questions arise.
- CHAPEL: We hold weekly chapel services at the Walnut Grove FWB Church in Chauncey. Services
begin at 8:15 AM and dismiss at approximately 9:00 AM. Tuesday is chapel for K-4 thru 4th graders and
Wednesday is chapel for 5th thru 12th graders. Students are asked to dress nice for chapel and an
offering is lifted. We invite all parents and grandparents to share in chapel with us.
- DAILY DROP OFF & PICK UP: Always turn your vehicle before unloading your child. Never
stop in front of the entrance door, this causes a bottleneck in traffic flow. K-4 and K-5 students may be
walked to their classroom door. All other students may be walked to the main entrance only. Home room
and class routine begins promptly at 8:15 AM. If you need to speak with your child's teacher, please
schedule a time with him/her before 8:15 AM or after school. At evening dismissal K-4 thru 4th grade
students will be walked out to your car with their teachers. All other students will come out after the
busses leave at 2:50 PM.
- TUITION PAYMENT BOOKS: Payments are due in the office by the 1st of each month. A $15.00
late fee is charged if payments are not in by the 10th of each month. A calendar of holidays for the year
is in the back cover.
- GYM CLOTHES: Order forms are available online & in the office for BHCS gym clothes. Gym
clothes are required for students in grades 7th thru 10th. All other students may purchase them for
various school functions, for example, field day, Serve-A-Thon, or the Presidential Physical Fitness
program (1st thru 10th grades).
- BAD WEATHER: We follow Logan County School's decisions on school cancellations and delays
due to bad weather. The county hotline number is 1-800-305-7568. You can also check online at
http://wvde.state.wv.us/closings/county/all.
Thank you again for entrusting your child to BHCS.
In Christ,
Regina Vance, principal
